Who this work enables

Tools & support for charities: Reusable workforce-information software and implementation guidance can help health organizations avoid rebuilding personnel-data systems and support capacity.

Open-source evidence · license checked

  • iHRIS — LGPL-3.0 license text; program FAQ uses GPL-v3 wording license file. Organization’s role: steward.
Inspected the repository linked by the parent organization’s current iHRIS page. The root file contains LGPL-3.0 while the program FAQ says GPL v3; this packet records that discrepancy, not every component/version’s legal interpretation, security or service terms. License-file snapshot: 0a041280bd00a9d068f503b8ee7ce35214bd24a1.

License checked 2026-10-27. This is not a security audit, proof of current support or effectiveness, or a promise of free hosting. A sponsor or steward is not necessarily the sole developer. Unchecked profiles are not evidence of closed code. No extra score points are added.

Humanity’s Checklist source match

Coordination · Gatekeepers — editorial, partial alignment.

Shared workforce information can address coordination failures and information bottlenecks. This partial match does not establish clinical benefit, legitimate data use or binding patient and worker control.

Explicit checklist adoption: not verified. A mechanism match is not an affiliation, endorsement, evidence of effectiveness or a scoring bonus. Read the practice.

The proposed pathway

Provide reusable health-workforce information tools and implementation capacity

Six dimensions, with rationale

Structural depth

3 / 4

Shared workforce information and institutional capacity can change allocation and planning routines rather than only deliver individual care.

Institutional reach

4 / 4

Common workforce infrastructure can support multiple facilities, professions and health programs, with national institutions mediating actual reach.

Durability

2 / 4

Reusable code and institutional skills can persist, while accurate records, staffing, software and public budgets require renewal.

Scalability

3 / 4

Common software and implementation knowledge can be adapted across systems, but interoperability, trusted data and local capacity constrain replication.

Funding additionality

Unreviewed

No current marginal implementation or maintenance funding bottleneck, donor substitution or counterfactual versus other health-system investments was audited.

Community agency

Unreviewed

Government partnership and local customization do not establish binding decision rights for health workers, patients or affected communities.

Illustrative inclusion to examine this mechanism. Inclusion is not an external recommendation or a verified comparative ranking.

A testable next question

Do comparable health institutions adopting supported iHRIS improve equitable workforce allocation and reliable service availability beyond existing planning systems, after data-quality, privacy, transition and maintenance costs are included?

Review confidence: Moderate for documented design; low for systemic attribution. IntraHealth International Inc.’s current nonprofit health-workforce technology and implementation role as a Global Communities subsidiary, with iHRIS as the named example; not the whole parent group or a similarly named commercial software firm.

What remains uncertain

The current about page says IntraHealth incorporated as a nonprofit and became a Global Communities subsidiary in May 2024; the commercial intrahealth.com brand is not this entity. The linked current iHRIS repository contains LGPL-3.0 text, whereas the parent program FAQ calls it GPL v3; this difference is explicit and not a blanket license resolution for every version or component. An incorrect /digital-health route returned 500; the parent’s working program page and its source link were used instead. No clinical, privacy, security or cost-savings audit occurred, and records or installations do not demonstrate better care.
